The Beverage Guidance Panel, published in March 2006 issue of the Journal Of American Clinical Nutrition, tea (without added sugar) is the best choice after water and is recommended to people with daily energy requirement 2200 Kcal, the tea consumption over 8 servings a day.

The Beverage Guidance Panel rated the drinks based on the health benefits and risks, as well as the nutrient content per calories. In the light of this study, water comes first as the best option to meet human needs for liquids. Then, it comes tea as a second best choice.

People with daily energy needs of 2200 Kcal can consume up to 1182 ml tea per day (can replace water). However, the daily rate of calorie intake from beverages should not exceed 10 - 14%.

The experts said that tea provides a variety of flavonoids as well as micronutrients such as fluoride. Amino acids, such as theanine have been found to stimulate γ/δ T cells, contributing to the enhancement of the immune system. That\'s why, it helps the body to resist infections and inflammations. 

In addition stable data and cross information indicate that tea protects against many type of cancer in experimental animals, although in humans are still under investigation.
